About Us
Who are we?
We are three full-time firefighters in Northern Virginia who founded First Due Energy. We work 24-hour shifts and love what we do. Amidst many sleepless nights, we drink a lot of energy drinks and coffee to get us through. Caffeine and hydration is not just a part of our routine, it is a part of our culture. With this in mind, we decided to make a drink that is geared toward our specific lifestyle and line of work. A drink you can enjoy all day or night long, while minimizing crash and putting an emphasis on hydration and nutrition.
Where did our company name come from?
"First Due" is a term used by first responders to denote your area of responsibility. It refers to the geographical area where a firetruck from a specific station is expected to arrive first. Most commonly this term is used in the fire service but applies to emergency medical services as well as police departments. That said, this term applies to all of us. Everyone has their own “first due.” A project they are managing, an operating room, a list of clients, a household, or a worksite. Whatever your “first due” may be, First Due Energy is here to give you that energy boost to power you through your day.
What is significant about our logo?
The spade is an important symbol to us because of the firehouse we all come from. Adopted from the 101st Airborne division, the US paratroopers put them on their helmets as they dropped into enemy territory. At our firehouse, you are given a spade to put on your helmet when you demonstrate you have the mentality and work ethic that those brave men exhibited during the second world war. When someone sees a spade on a helmet, it means that individual is trusted to perform their job at the highest possible level. Inside the spade on our logo is a structural firefighting helmet as a reminder of where we came from. And on the helmet shield, where a unit identifier is usually located so others know what crew you belong to, are the letters "FDE," as we belong to First Due Energy.
